Andrew Mockett and Nobrow books

Well the Cheltenham Illustration Awards was a fab day- my illustration looked really pixelated so I was very disappointed- a lesson learned about saving images in photoshop and thinking they look fine and then seeing them blown up and actually looking crap.
The talks we had were great- Sam from Nobrow chatted about his inspirations and the smell of paper...

Then Andrew Mockett gave us a lovely Roger Moore-esq talk about his beautiful work and really inspired me- I went and bought my first wood cut tools today- really excited about that- just need to get some wood.
He made me feel ok about working in my crappy job and keeping on making my work in the way I want to. An interesting, funny and intelligent man is that Mockett.

  1. Hey there,

Just stumbled across your blog and really loved the "but we used to be lovers" piece. Is it yours. Great use of colours. May I ask is that woodblock print or some other medium?

I am a aspiring designer/illustrator and would love to hear back from you. My email is jaydub@uvic.ca. Cheers
